Weaving the Future of Animal Behavior (WFAB, pronounced "way fab") offers an annual workshop series for advanced postdocs and early career faculty. You may find these workshops especially helpful if you are considering or launching into an academic career or another career where you will be in a position of leading research initiatives.

Are you an advanced postdoc or early career faculty interested in joining WFAB?
Every summer, we offer a 3-part workshop associated with the annual meeting of the Animal Behavior Society. You can register for the workshop as you register for the conference. It's free! Space is limited, so please register early. If you have any problems registering for the workshop, or decide to join late, please reach out to us at [email protected] - we will try to fit you in if we can!

The WFAB Workshop Series in 2025 will be associated with the annual meeting of the Animal Behavior Society in Baltimore, Maryland

NEWS for 2025
  • We are excited to be offering our three-part WFAB workshop series for postdocs and pre-tenure faculty again in 2025 as a pre-conference workshop option for the Animal Behavior Society annual meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. The workshop series will start with an online workshop (July 1 11:00 am – 1:00 pm EDT), followed by an in-person workshop the day before the ABS meeting starts (July 8 8:30 am - 5:00 pm EDT), and we follow this all up with another online meeting after the conference (July 22 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm EDT). This third meeting will focus on the formation of Power of Peers (PoP Circles). See more details below.
  • We are planning a 2025 online WFAB reunion in August, 2025! Details will follow soon. We welcome all current and former WFAB participants, organizers, and panelists. Jennifer Smith is the reunion organizer for 2025.
